• Lots of folks will sell you fixed asset inventory or tagging services but, like most things, the devil’s in the details. AMR’s Fixed Asset Inventory and Reconciliation services included re-tagging our assets, gathering data-plate and location information, establishing standard naming conventions, as well as a series of automated data matching routines designed to tie their results back to the asset entries on our books. Naturally, the better your books are, the better the matching results will be but, nonetheless, that’s the part most vendors leave out of their inventory services. Typically, you get a bunch of data but no clue what to do with it once you have it and no way to tie it back to the books. I’m quite pleased with the comprehensive process employed by AMR to fully reconcile. They did what they said and met my expectations. And at the end of the day, I know we couldn’t possibly have done in-house what they did for us. We got a lot of bang for our buck, so much so that I’m hoping to make this a recurring engagement every three to five years.
